NO Cursing in Christ Jesus!

“With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should NOT be.” – James 3:9-10 NIV

Out of the same mouth, we SHOULDN’T curse human beings while we are praising the Lord, for the word of God says, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31) We have to know that God is love, for love comes from Him; “We love because he first loved us.” (1 John 4:19):

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” (1 John 4:7-12)

Since Romans 13:9-10 states: ‘…whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law,’ we are breaking the entire law, if we do NOT love one another; the word of God says, “For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it.” (James 2:10)

Therefore, if we want to do keep doing the will of God by obeying His commandments, then we ought to love one another INCLUDING our enemies, even though it is difficult. And instead of cursing, we should “… encourage one another and build each other up…” (1 Thessalonians 5:11), for “… in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” (Romans 12:5)
