“Without faith it is impossible to please God, because
anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those
who earnestly seek him.” – Hebrews 11:6 NIV
Yes, this is true that without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to
please God. We also CANNOT get right with Him without faith, for the word of
God states:
… my righteous one will live by
faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” (Hebrews
10:38) - “We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ.
And this is true for everyone who believes, NO matter who we are. (Romans
3:22)
We CANNOT even come to Him, if we do not have any faith in
Christ Jesus – “If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives
in them and they in God.” (1
John 4:15) This means that faith is FIRST PRINCIPLE that we all need to
have, if we want to be a follower of Jesus. This is because without faith we
CANNOT have love and hope as well as peace (see
John 14:27) and joy (see
1 Peter 1:3-9) in Christ Jesus, even though love is the greatest of all (1
Corinthians 13:13) -- since all of us are justified with God through faith:
Therefore, since we have been
justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through
whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And
we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our
sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance,
character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because
God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has
been given to us. (Romans
5:1-5)
The BEST way to increase our faith in God is through the
Bible, which is a book that is FULL of God’s word, for “all Scripture is
God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in
righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every
good work,” (2
Timothy 3:16-17) as well as praying in Christ Jesus that is according to
the will of God – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by
prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the
peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and
your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians
4:6-7)
However, we have to surrender our lives before Him; to
fully-please God, our Lord and Creator by keep doing the will of God, for the
Bible states:
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and
sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,
holy and pleasing to God—this is your TRUE and PROPER worship. Do not conform
to the pattern of this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing
and perfect will.” (Romans
12:1-2)
