“Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name,
for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long
ago.” (Isaiah 25:1 NIV) – “But be sure to fear the LORD and serve him faithfully
with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.” (1 Samuel
12:24 NIV)
It is most likely to exalt and praise our God when good
situations happen, especially the ones that we expected. However, these are NOT
the main point why we exalt and praise Him. Our main point of exalting and
praising Him SHOULD be that we are living in the evil world as a new creations
in Christ Jesus (2
Corinthians 5:17), that are as children of God (1
John 3:1) – “His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps
feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from any one of us.
For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We
are his offspring.’” (Acts
17:27-28) It is ALL because of the
steadfast love of God, so we also SHOULD be grateful that His steadfast love
endures forever (Psalm
136:1-3).
Therefore, we SHOULD continually seek Him with all of our
humilities before God, just as Psalm
27:8 states – ‘My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I
will seek.’ – “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and
he will give you everything you need.” (Matthew
6:33) And we SHOULD serve Him faithfully, just as 1
Samuel 12:24 states – “Be sure to fear the LORD and serve him faithfully
with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.”
While we are seeking the Lord and His kingdom with our
humilities, we MUSTN’T be afraid the world, for the word of God says, “The Lord
himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor
forsake you. Do NOT be afraid; do NOT be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy
31:8) – “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for
theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you,
persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice
and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven…..” (Matthew
5:10-12)
