The Importance of the Faith and the Gospel!

“But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel…” – Colossians 1:22-23 NIV

Because we have been made under the same image as God (Genesis 1:27) and since we have sinned (Romans 3:23;5:12)—God came down from heaven into the world as Jesus Christ (John 1:14) to crucify Himself on the cross as an atonement of our sins (Colossians 2:13-15, Hebrews 2:14-15); to make us become the righteousness of God again. (2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:24) This means that Jesus has provided the way of the life and the truth. (John 14:6)

Thus, in order to be the righteousness of God and want to gain eternal life again, we ought to believe in Him (John 3:16,36) and do the works that He has told us to do. (Ephesians 2:10; 1 Corinthians 3:9) Because of these, God has poured His Spirit into us to simply remind us what to do (John 14:15-17,26-27), as faith cannot go by itself. (James 2:14-26)

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.
Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:5-11)

Second of all, there is the Bible available to us. As we probably know that the Bible is the book that contains many diferent gospels, which are made out of God’s word. Moreover, this book was created to show us how to live righteously before God, which can still affect us today. Thus, we call this book, the ‘book of life’ or we simply call, ‘the word of God.’

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” (Hebrews 4:12, Romans 1:17)

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Because of the word of God is alive, Apostle Paul wrote:

Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God. For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him. (Philippians 1:27-29)
