Eternal Life, the Covenant of God!

“How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.” – Hebrews 9:14-15 NIV

The first covenent that God had made was based on the law that sinners have to go to their priests to take away their sins by offerings and sacrifices of the specific animals such as bulls and goats; to make right with God. However, in reality, the offerings and sacrifices that they had made could not take our sins. This is because the word of God proclaims: “But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins. It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.” (Hebrews 10:3-4)

For this reason, God, our heavenly Father (Ephesians 4:6) has made the new covenant, which has been eternal life. (Romans 6:23) To do this, He had to send His beloved Son into the world (John 3:16-18;John 1:14;) as an image of Himself (Colossians 1:15) to crucify Himself on the cross as atonement of our sins. (Colossians 2:13-15; Hebrews 2:14-15) This is because of the steadfast love of God that has been towards us. (1 John 4:9-10)

Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:
“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased.
Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll—I have come to do your will, my God.’”
First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”—though they were offered in accordance with the law. Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this priest [Jesus Christ] had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. (Hebrews 10:5-14)

Overall, now we could just pray to our Lord, Jesus Christ with the repentant heart (Matthew 3:2), to take our sins and to cleanse us from the unrightousness. (1 John 1:9) Moreover, there is the Bible avaiable for us, which is the word of God, instructing us how to live righteously before Him (1 John 2:1-2) This is because 2 Corinthians 5:21 NLT and 1 Peter 2:24-25 NIV states that we ought to live righteously before God, and this is the reason that Jesus Christ had been crucified for us: “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ”; ‘“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.’

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Romans 1:17, Hebrews 4:12)

Therefore, we need to read the Bible daily, since the word of God declares:

Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God. For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him. (Philippians 1:27-29)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. (Romans 1:16)
