“His master
replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a
few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your
master’s happiness!’” - Matthew 25:23
NIV
We should not take in
charge of many things right away, if we cannot even be faithful with a few
things. Of course, this makes sense in every situation, whether in ministries
or with worldly materials. However, we should use worldly materials, for the
glory (1
Corinthians 10:31) and the kingdom of God since the word of God states: “The earth is the LORD's, and everything in
it. The world and all its people belong to him.” (Psalm
24:1) This means that we are His
managers, so we must not use them for our worldly passions, for the word of God
states:
Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love
the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers
only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and
pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but
are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that
people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. (1
John 2:15-17)
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and
vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for
yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and
where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your
treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew
6:19-21)
Like Matthew 6:20
states, we should store heavenly treasures up, while we are on the earth, We can
do this by serving one another, for Jesus says, “It is more blessed to give
than to receive.” (Acts
20:35)
Therefore, since
Matthew 6:33 NLT and Philippians 4:19 NIV state: “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he
will give you everything you need. And my God will meet all your needs
according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus,” let’s set our hearts
and minds on the kingdom of heaven to be the managers of God in everything that
He has given us, for our citizenship is in heaven! (Philippians
3:20-21, 2 Corinthians 5:1)
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things
above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on
things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden
with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will
appear with him in glory. So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it
all for the glory of God. (Colossians
3:1-4, 1 Corinthians 10:31)
