The Compassion of the Lord!

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22-23 NIV

We should NOT think that we are consumed by the Lord’s wrath, especially when bad situations happen to us. This is because like Lamentations 3:22 states, His compassion never fails due to the steadfast love of God; that we should be called the children of God (1 John 3:1). And plus, He showed us His love by crucifying on the cross for us – “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins” (1 John 4:9-10); to disarm every spiritual rulers and authorities in our lives – “You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.” (Colossians 2:13-15)
So that we can be new creations in Christ Jesus to live a new life (2 Corinthians 5:17) by being the righteousness of God – ‘“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”’ (1 Peter 2:24) For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

If we change Lamentations 2:22-23 from NIV into ESV, it goes like this: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Therefore, let’s NOT forget that they are new every morning, and live our lives utmost for the glory and the kingdom of God, “making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.” (Ephesians 5:16, Matthew 16:27)
