“These people come near to me with their mouth and
honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is
based on merely human rules they have been taught.” – Isaiah 29:13 NIV
We should NOT be like people who worship God in the human
regulations. In another words, we should not be under the laws when we worship
God. For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its
power. (1
Corinthians 15:56)
… We have put our faith in Christ
Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the
law, because by the works of the law NO one will be justified. Through the law
I died to the law so that I might live for God. (Galatians
2:16,19)
Therefore, we need to be born again, in order to properly
worship Him and in the truth, NOT by mother’s womb, but through the Spirit; since
“God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” (John
4:24):
… He saved us through the washing
of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously
through Jesus Christ our Savior. We were therefore buried with him through
baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead
through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. (Titus
3:5-6, Romans 6:4)
Then we should always let the Holy Spirit guide our lives,
for we have died to the law:
I say, walk by the Spirit, and you
will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is
contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are
in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But
if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Therefore, I urge you,
brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living
sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your TRUE and PROPER worship. Do
not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his
good, pleasing and perfect will. (Galatians
5:16-18, Romans 12:1-2)
