The Salvation in Christ Jesus!

“… Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” – Philippians 2:12-13 NLT

The Holy Spirit would advocate us to do the will of God (John 14:15-17,26-27; Ezekiel 36:26-27), but it is up to us to get momentum whether we should work for the Lord or not. This means that we should not rely on the moments of inspiration. In addition, it is not up to our brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus to influence us to work for God all day long. In other words, our close brothers and sisters might influence us spiritually, but it is up to us to work our own salvation. “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” (Philippians 2:13) Therefore, we have to rely on the Spirit of God all the time if we want to work for the Lord (Proverbs 3:5-6). For this reason, the word of God declares,

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)

What Romans 12:2 is declaring to us is that we must not abide into various customs of this world. Otherwise, we are not be able to focus on the Spirit, in order to do the will of God. This is because the word of God proclaims, “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:4) For this reason, we have to overcome this world (1 John 5:1-5), just like Jesus Christ did (John 16:33); thus, the word of God commands,

Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. (1 John 2:15-17, Hebrews 11:6)

Overall, if we overcome the world and produce godly desires (1 Timothy 4:8)—the Spirit of God would certainly advocate us to do the will of God until the end of the age. This is because “we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose; being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:28, Philippians 1:6)

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.
Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:3-11)

As for me, every time I write devotionals, I always depend the Holy Spirit to tell me what to write, due to the fact that I have absolutely no idea what to write without the Spirit of God. However, I need to work on my salvation for God in Christ Jesus. This is because when I could have persevered, I did not persevere and instead of this, I rested for little while. I could have woken up little bit later, but I wanted to finish up Kairos course due to the fact that it has been very overdue homework that I supposed to finish at June 20th. Therefore, I need to work on perseverance and bit more selfless attribute.
