Jesus Christ, our Saviour!

“He [Jesus Christ] is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” - 1 John 2:2 NIV

The main reason why Jesus Christ was sent into the world (John 1:14) is to crucify Himself on the cross as an atonement of our sins. (Colossians 2:13-15) Thus, we can be saved from the devil, whom was inside of us before Jesus was crucified. (Hebrews 2:14-15) This means that He has provided us the way of the life and the truth. (John 14:6) “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) This shows us how much God has loved His eternal kingdom of heaven and us, as the word of God declares:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. (John 3:16-18)

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. (1 John 4:9-10)

Moreover, God has poured His Spirit into us to advocate us in walking with Him. (John 14:15-17,26-27, Ezekiel 36:26-27) “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9) In addition, Jesus Christ had said,

Very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin, because people do not believe in me; about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (John 16:7-13)

Therefore, we have to overcome the world (1 John 5:1-5) if we want to follow Jesus Christ and be devoted to Him (Galatians 5:24-25; 1 John 2:15-17), even though it is going to be hard. (Mark 8:34-38) This is also why that God created the Bible, which contains many different of gospels that is full of His Word, to guide us in the right path of following Him. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes… For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” (Romans 1:16-17)

Nonetheless, we need to repent to God before we start to follow Him—since we are sinners (Romans 3:23;5:12) This is because the word of God says:

Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. (Matthew 3:2)

Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will… send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah. (Acts 3:19-20)
