The Importance of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ!

“For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.” – 1 Corinthians 15:16-19 NIV

First of all, we ought to know that ‘Jesus Christ has been risen from the dead’ is very important fact to all of us, especially for those of us who put faith in Christ Jesus and are going to believe in Him until the end of the age. This is because without the resurrection of Him, there is no salvation (Acts 4:12) and all of Christian lives are pointless—since all of us have to walk narrow and hard road if we want to enter the eternal life from the end of the age (Matthew 7:13-14) but every result will be the same at that time, that all of us are going to be dead. This means that all of Christian lives also are having such pity lives. However, 1 Corinthians 15:20-22 declares, “But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.” Hence, we have to know that all of us have been fully saved because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, if we only accept Jesus and believe in Him until the end of the age. This is because God has already presented us holy in His sight through His physical body (Colossians 1:21-22).  Because of this, we are able to keep the hope of God firm within ourselves (1 Peter 1:3-9) that we are going to be resurrect in the glorious bodies at the end of the age (Romans 5:1-11). The main reason for these is that God has allowed us to have citizenship of the eternal kingdom of heaven if we only just put our faith in Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:18-21).

But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. (Romans 3:21-26)

Moreover, God has poured His Spirit (John 14:15-27) into us to guide us to be the righteousness of God (Romans 8:1-13) and godliness (2 Peter 1:3-11) the end of the age. “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” (1 Timothy 4:8) This is why Jesus Christ was willing to crucify Himself on the cross, so by the time of His resurrection, the Holy Spirit is able to come into us (John 16:7-15) to be holy in God’s sight (1 Peter 1:14-16). Furthermore, God has created His Word through apostles and prophets (2 Peter 1:20-21). This is because He wants us to keep His Word accountable for becoming the righteousness of God until the end of the age (2 Timothy 3:16-17). ‘For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”’ (Romans 1:17) Thus for this reason, we have to abide in the Spirit of God, especially when we read the word of God. “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)

Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God. For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him. (Philippians 1:27-29)
